KDMC Wound Care, Center of Excellence, Distinction
2016, 2017, 2019
The King’s Daughters Wound Care Center has achieved patient satisfaction
rates higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent
in less than 30 median days to heal, for a minimum of two consecutive
years. The Center was awarded this prestigious honor by Healogics, the
nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services. Out of
340 eligible Centers, 268 were honored with this award.
Baby-Friendly Certification
2019-2024
King’s Daughters Medical Center has received prestigious international
recognition as a Designated Baby-Friendly birth facility. This award recognizes
hospitals and birthing centers that offer an optimal level of care for
breastfeeding mothers and their babies. Based on the
Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, this prestigious international award recognizes birth facilities that
offer breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence, and skills needed
to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies.

The 2016/2017 Most Wired® survey and benchmarking study is a leading industry barometer measuring
information technology (IT) use and adoption among hospitals nationwide.
The survey of 680 participants, representing an estimated 2,146 hospitals—more
than 34 percent of all hospitals in the U.S.—examines how organizations
are leveraging IT to improve performance for value-based health care in
the areas of infrastructure, business and administrative management, quality
and safety, and clinical integration.

King’s Daughter’s Medical Center is a winner of the Hurst Gold
Standard of Nursing Award for achieving excellence in quality nursing.
This award is given to hospital nursing staffs that achieve top tier weighted
scores, significantly above the national average on key quality indicators
from HCAHPS surveys specific to hospital nursing services.
Best Hospital, Orthopedics
2017
The Women’s Choice Award recipients for Best Hospitals for Orthopedics
are determined first by identifying hospitals that provided comprehensive
orthopedic services, indicating a minimum number of arthroscopy, joint
replacement and spine surgery services, as well as offering onsite MRI
and physical therapy. Those full service hospitals were then judged on
their HCAHPS results for patient recommendations and postoperative recovery
instructions, measures that are very important to women in choosing a hospital.
